Hi! I’m sort of guilty about the almost-two-month period of no posting, but to be honest, I was not feeling it at all. At all. I love blogging, don’t get me wrong, but it became a chore for me, especially since I don’t read much in the summer anyways. I kept getting these questions about what’s going on, what’s wrong, but nothing was wrong. I didn’t want to post, so I didn’t.
Reading takes a back seat during the summer normally, unless a highly anticipated book is released or I go hunting at Barnes and Noble, but I usually just read required books for school and then binge watch tv shows. This summer was pretty much the same. I read a few books, but most of the ones I picked up were seriously disappointing. Six of Crows, Leigh Bardugo’s super famous novel, was terrible for me to get into. I made it 60 pages before I gave it back to the library. I of course read the new Harry Potter book because I’m not an animal, but then it was back to watching Chuck (which is amazing, so there’s no regrets). School started two weeks ago, and I’m busy. Work, riding, homework, sleep, normal human stuff, plus reading and blogging? My free time mostly consists of staring at the ceiling after doing homework for three hours. Yay, junior year!
ANYways, on Sunday, I bought Emery Lord’s The Start of Me and You, which was amazing and ended the slump (of sorts). I need to reorganize my shelves and get them back in alphabetical order, because they’re a mess, but I take that as a sign to mean I’m back to caring about the state of my shelves. I’m going to finish Adam Silvera’s More Happy Than Not hopefully by Saturday, and some others that I’ve collected over the past few months.
In regards to posting and content, I’m going to keep your expectation lows and aim for once a week. Maybe more, hopefully more. I’ll have reviews, discussions, top tens, and probably some other things. I put myself in a box when it came to this blog, and I’m busting out of it. You may see some other nerdy things on here (tv, movies, music) and some life updates, just so that I can post without feeling like I’m letting myself down. (when will I get it into my head that this is MY BLOG?!) My review for The Start of Me and You will be up by Thursday, it’s going to take some time to make the adoring mush in my brain into full sentences about THE CHARACTERS (preview: Max is my dream. Enough said.)
Okay, I think that’s it for now. THANK YOU all for your patience and not banging down my door asking where I am. It took me a little while, but I’m here now, and it’s gonna be hard to get rid of me.
