DISCUSSION: eBooks vs. Print

Wow, it’s been a while. Sorry about that! I posted a few times on my Instagram talking about how busy I was, but not posting for over a week has really made me sad. 😦 But I’m here now to discuss eBooks and Print books!

Normally, I’m a fan eBooks. I have a Kindle and I use Google Play Books on my phone, which is easy to use and convenient when traveling. You can highlight your favorite quotes and carry a million books around in one tiny device! eBooks are also cheaper than normal print books and you don’t have to wait for delivery, so there are a bunch of bonuses.

That being said, I love print books. Everyone always says that there’s something about opening a book and flipping through the pages, which is a magical feeling. And when you’re done, you get to close it and have that feeling of accomplishment and sadness that it’s over (or happiness, I’ve read those books, too). Plus, with print books, you get the cover and the spine and all the beauty that comes with real pages.

It’s a preference thing, at the end. I love print books, but since I don’t have a prejudice towards eBooks, I find them convenient and easy, so I use them. I’m not an audiobook person (the voice of the reader always really bothers me) but I listened to one last month when I was getting too sick to read in the car, and it wasn’t horrible. I guess I’ll never master reading and walking 😦 Anyways, there’s nothing wrong with either eBooks or print, it’s whatever you as a reader want! Need books on the go easily? EBOOKS! Love the feeling on pages and spines, while also wanting to fill your shelves with colorful books? PRINT!

I know that some people have a lot of passionate feelings about this debate, so let me know if you have an extreme feeling towards one of these options, what you prefer, or if you don’t care (like me)!

Happy reading (with your eBooks or print πŸ™‚ )

I was in a pretty bad slump after The Unexpected Everything (sadly, the book I was trying to read for an author was going very slowly, so I took a break from it) and also have been crazy busy with riding, school, and driver’s ed, which I started last week. I’m getting out of my slump by reading Sarah J. Maas’ novellas from Throne of Glass, so hopefully I can finish that soon and post a couple more times before this month ends. Thanks for sticking with me πŸ™‚

  1. I work in libraries and was always a book person. Then a few years ago my husband bought me a kindle for Christmas. I haven’t looked back since and love my kindle. I’m now on my second and just couldn’t live without it! I still read books but mainly cookbooks things like that.

    Great post πŸ™‚
