Hey, guys! We’re almost in May (this year has flown by for me) and that means that May 3rd is almost here! You may ask yourself, what’s so special about May 3rd? Oh, I don’t know, over 30 YA books alone are going on sale!!! Seriously, I don’t have money in the first place, so I don’t know how this is going to work out for me.

EpicReads, aka one of my favorite book publishing groups, posted on their blog a list of books being released in May, and then a separate list of books being published on May 3rd alone. I won’t go through them all because that would be stressful, but here are the books I’m looking forward to that come out on Tuesday, May 3rd (links to Goodreads)

The Unexpected Everything (Morgan Matson)

I preordered TUE a few months ago from Vroman’s bookstore in California, where it will be signed by Morgan Matson on May 3rd and sent to me! I won’t actually be getting it on May 3rd since it’s shipping across the country, but I’m still super excited!

The Crown (Kiera Cass)

This is the last book in The Selection series, so I’m interested in how it’s going to end! I think my sister is getting it, so I’ll steal borrow it from her. πŸ˜‰

The Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle (Rick Riordan)

This one I preordered from Amazon, so I’m hoping it will be here on Tuesday or the next day. I’m so super pumped for this one because hello, it’s Rick Riordan, and bonus: Percy and the rest of the Camp HalfBlood gang are in it!

A Court of Mist and Fury (Sarah J. Maas)

*deep breath* I am so scared for this one, but also really, really excited. I loved ACOTAR, so I’m assuming Sarah J. Maas will annihilate my heart with this book, because that’s kind of what she does.

The Square Root of Summer by (Harriet Reuter Hapgood)

This one isn’t as important to me as the others, but it looks like a fun summer read! I’ll see if my library get it in, because as I mentioned before, I have no money and need a job.

Ruined (Amy Tintera)

This one just sounds good, but I’m not emotionally unstable thinking about it (like I am with the first four books.

Now, most of the books that come out on May 3rd have no significance to me, but they might be important to you! Let me know if May 3rd is going to be stressful for anyone else, or if it’s just me πŸ˜‰ I know the people at EpicReads are freaking out, because that is a whoooolle lot of books.

Other releases in May that I’m pumped for:

Summer Days & Summer Nights: Twelve Love Stories (Stephanie Perkins and other authors) MAY 17

Highly Illogical Behavior (John Corey Whaley) MAY 10

Wanderlost (Jen Malone) MAY 31

I officially declare May the month of books that I don’t have money to buy. (okay, yes, technically that’s every month, but this is a lot of books that I don’t have the money to buy). Are you excited/terrified for May 3rd, too? Let me know and we can prepare for it together!

  1. that’s a good plan! I’m not really in a position to spend oodles of money on books, but thankfully, I have awesome people who are willing to fuel my love for literature! Enjoy the beauty of the Selection series πŸ™‚
